The Ras Al Khaimah Transport Authority (RAKTA) has achieved another milestone by winning the UAE Ideas Award 2026 in the Smart Government and Digital Transformation category. The authority was awarded for its Data and Smart Control Center project.
RAKTA was honoured at the 12th edition of the award ceremony, organised by the Dubai Quality Group, among the leading regional platforms dedicated to celebrating institutional innovation initiatives.
RAKTA Celebrated for its Smart Ecosystem
RAKTA won the award during the closing ceremony, which was held under the patronage of HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority (DCAA), president and chief executive of Emirates Airline and Group, on Thursday, 11th June. The event took place at Al Habtoor Hall in Al Habtoor Palace Hotel in Dubai.
RAKTA’s victory in this category reflects the authority’s initiatives and efforts in the development of its data and smart control ecosystem. By adopting advanced digital solutions, the authority has helped improve operational efficiency in Ras Al Khaimah’s public transportation networks.
Examples include relaunching the emirate’s Purple Route and introducing Ras Al Khaimah’s first electric bus, launching real-time passenger information systems to increase smart mobility across public transport stations.
RAKTA has also worked on digital infrastructure in the transport sector, making it more robust and aligned with the UAE’s vision to move closer towards smart government.
Data and Smart Control Center
The Data and Smart Control Center is one of RAKTA’s main initiatives and focuses on leveraging modern technologies in real-time data analytics and intelligent operations management to enhance service quality and decision-making efficiency.
The ceremony was attended by His Excellency Eng. Esmaeel Hassan Al Blooshi, the Director General of RAKTA, along with the Data and Smart Control Center team. Talents from across the country have contributed towards the accomplishment and continue to representing the authority in regional competitive platforms.
Ras Al Khaimah is continuing its efforts to develop a smart and sustainable transport system that supports the emirate’s and the UAE’s wider vision for a more innovative future.
