Tourists planning to visit the UAE anytime soon can now obtain single-entry visas in just 48 hours.
The General Directorate for Identity and Foreigners Affairs Dubai (GDRFA) has announced the update and cited the issuance of a single-entry tourist visa as a service on its website. According to the website, a foreign national will be granted an entry visa for a single visit for tourism, valid for 30 or 60 days.
Meanwhile, the tourist’s sponsor or host in the UAE should be a tourism establishment, upon payment of the prescribed fee and financial security deposit.
How to Obtain Single Entry Visas for Tourists
To access this visa, visitors will need a passport with at least 6 months’ validity at the time of travel to enter the UAE. They must also show a ticket for a return or onward journey and any valid medical insurance covering the UAE. Applicants must provide one personal photo, a copy of their passport, and an identity card from their country of origin for a few nationalities, such as Iraq, Pakistan, Iran, and Afghanistan.
The service is available on digital channels such as the GDRFA website or the smart application. Applicants can log in to the smart services system using a UAE pass or username, search for the required service and fill out the application information as appropriate.

Single entry visas in the UAE cost AED 200 for a 30-day tourist visa and AED 300 for a 60-day visa. There is no security deposit amount on this type of visa. The Knowledge Dirham and Innovation Dirham both cost AED 10.
There will be a charge of AED 500 if the visa has to be processed when the applicant is already in the UAE. It’s important to note that the total amount may vary as visas can go up or down, depending on the traveller’s own circumstances or others.
Approved tourism centres in the UAE can process visa applications within 48 hours (2 days). The authority’s website lists approved centres.
Single-entry visas in the UAE offer the advantage of easier, more convenient tourism, while those exploring education, employment, or business opportunities in the UAE can easily pay a visit as well. There are also permits available for those who need to visit their families for a short period of time or access medical treatment.
