A major transformation is underway for Al Rams Corniche, which is set to reshape one of Ras Al Khaimah’s most scenic coastal areas. Earlier, the Emirates Council for Balanced Development had announced the launch of development works for Al Rams Waterfront and Al Rams Boulevard.
Located on the northern coast of Ras Al Khaimah, Al Rams is known for its fishing heritage, mountain views, and access to the Arabian Gulf. The move came as part of a wider initiative to transform villages and rural areas in the UAE into integrated destinations with high quality of life and a focus on sustainability.
The project includes the development of Al Rams Corniche and Al Rams Marina. Residents and visitors can look forward to new waterfront walking and cycling paths, landscaped public spaces, children’s play areas and event plazas designed for community gatherings.
The development will also celebrate the area’s Emirati heritage through traditional architectural details and a landmark inspired by local culture.
The Al Rams Boulevard project will connect the area directly to the waterfront. More than 100 shops will be refurbished, giving the boulevard a fresh new look while preserving its traditional character. They will be given a contemporary appearance that is still inspired by local heritage as a distinctive visual marker. The boulevard will also have parking and public seating space.
A shaded pedestrian walkway inspired by the intricate patterns of traditional Al Sadu weaving will also improve walkability throughout the waterfront.
Construction work on the corniche is being carried out in planned phases to minimise disturbance and hindrances to local businesses. Once complete, the redevelopment is expected to transform Al Rams Corniche into a vibrant waterfront destination where visitors can enjoy scenic walks, outdoor activities, local shopping and community events.
